With the spo-book SQUARE 15 slim, spo-comm is launching the new model of its successful panel PC. The PC with multi-touch display, which has been developed in cooperation with MSI IPC (MS-9A91), has been given an even more elegant and slim design. High-quality hardware and passive cooling facilitate long-term industrial use.

Robust hardware for continuous use in industrial environment

The spo-book SQUARE 15 slim is the latest development of the range launched in 2013, which excels through a large number of connection options and a compact, robust metal housing. In addition, the front of the panel PC conforms to IP65 protection standard, which means that it is impervious to dust and water spray.

The spo-book SQUARE 15 slim is also suitable for use in an extended temperature range from 0°C to 50°C without any problems. Top-quality components facilitate continuous use in an industrial environment – 24/7 under extreme conditions.

The model is ideally equipped for current and coming demands thanks to an update to Intel's high-performance Haswell platform while being flexibly extendable. The extremely energy-efficient Haswell architecture also allows the spo-book RUGGED HM87 excellent passive cooling of the integrated Intel core i3 processor. This is manufactured in the 22nm process and therefore offers a higher degree of efficiency for similarly high performance compared with direct predecessors. The passive cooling also avoids the use of moving parts within the stable metal housing of the spo-book RUGGED HM87.

As great care was taken during the design and development to ensure as small a construction size as possible, the spo-book RUGGED HM87 is a very compact industrial PC. The just four-centimetre-high device can therefore be transported quickly to its destination point and to fit it there, even under difficult conditions. Thanks to the freely selectable size of the working memory right through to eight gigabytes, this model of the RUGGED series is also very easy to adapt to your own requirements, which is also true of the hard drive, as there either a classic, magnetic working version or a modern SSD hard-drive can be used, which is able to drastically accelerate any type of file operations.

The award was presented personally when the MSI IPC leadership visited the spo-comm headquarter in Nuremberg. MSI gave thanks for the successful collaboration and set the course for new joint projects.

Spo-comm GmbH is the Europe partner for IPC systems of the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer MSI since 2008. High quality products combined with excellent customer service quickly led to success.

Concerning the development of new devices spo-comm and MSI are also collaborating closely. Thus, the manufacturers can respond to requirements by customers and implement them in order to optimize the product range steadily. This is reflected in the successful product lines WINDBOX, TURO, BRICK, NOVA and SQUARE, whose technological cores are being updated regularly.

Currently, spo-comm and MSI are planning the new products for this year. In February 2016 the further development of the SQUARE 15 panel-pc will go on sale.

High performance for demanding users

The metal housing of the WINDBOX III Advanced systems contains a Core i5 processor with a Broadwell core that operates at a maximum of 2.7 GHz and is supported by a maximum of 16 gigabytes of working memory.

DVI and DisplayPort interfaces guarantee that every configuration of the WINDBOX III Advanced series can drive up to three monitors simultaneously, with the same or different content.
