Intel’s CPU issue remains
We already mentioned the general shortage of electronic components in our last “What’s New?”-article. This affected mainly DRAM memory chips and passive components such as MLCC condensers. What complicates the whole situation now is the issue with the Intel CPUs.
In a statement Intel’s CEO announced that the company did not reckon with such a high request. As a result of this the whole electronic field is suffering from the enormous shortage of almost every sixth, seventh and eighth generation CPU. This also leads to an immense price increase.
It is still unsure how this is going to continue. We at spo-comm try to intercept the price increases in your as well as in our own self-interest. We kindly advise our customers to arrange the yet planned projects with us as soon as possible.

eMMC: space-saving taught by smartphones
Where some time ago there was only the classic HDD, we nowadays have some alternatives to choose from. The most popular is the SSD (Solid State Disk). What exactly differs these two kinds of hard disks you can read in this article.
Meanwhile also “eMMC” is often talked about. But what exactly is this? eMMC stands for “Embedded Multi Media Card”. It is a storage medium that is constructed like the MMC standard. Thanks to its energy conservation, the space saving construction and the technical similarity to an SD card, the eMMC is mostly used in compact mobile devices.
Even though the storage capacity of eMMC is only 16 GB to 128 GB, the price is clearly under the price of SSDs. Comparing an eMMC and an HDD the eMMC really has its advantages in transferring 4K content.
