Integrated degree program at spo-comm? Our student Patricia

Just in time for holiday season during August something was happening in the ranks of the spo-comm team. Since then, Patricia supported the girls within the context of an internship by creating blog content or maintain the website, learning a lot about the matter of Mini PCs. Since October 1st she is officially a dual student in our marketing team. We asked her how she got here and what is on her daily to-do list.

Marketing: Hello Patricia and again a warm welcome to our team! Tell us, how are you doing in our team?

Patricia: Thanks! I really have to say I feel completely comfortable here, everyone is so nice and helpful. I settled in so quick and immediately felt as if I had been part of the spo-comm for a long time. In the beginning I was really relieved because I, like probably everyone, had screwed down my social skills to the lowest due to social distancing, but fortunately I got back in quickly. Also, I am so thankful that I was given so much trust since the start and I was able to already manage a few tasks on my own.

Marketing: How did you get to know us as an employer?

Patricia: That’s a quite interesting story… Since the beginning of my last school year, I knew that I wanted to do a dual course of study and I applied for my desired university (the IU International University). Shortly after, it turned out that finding a practical partner was not as easy as I thought it would be. When I was about to give up and apply for an apprenticeship, my mom approached me and told me that the company of a friend was looking for support in their marketing team. After that, I immediately sent my application and during our first (virtual) meeting I thought: That is the company where I want to be! Luckily it all worked out.

Marketing: How does your studies work?

Patricia: An integrated degree program works a little different than a “basic” study. I am at the university two days a week and have lectures or the so-called self-learning phase. The remaining three days of the week I am at the spo-comm headquarters and get to know each area piece by piece. The aim of the course is to be able to put in practice what I just learned in order to memorize everything even better.

Marketing: What is on your to-do list during the time you work at the spo-comm headquarters?

Patricia: My tasks are very different but of course they all belong to marketing. I’m helping with the product development, which is currently being optimized, and contribute my own ideas. I also wrote some blog articles by myself and created social media posts. And I have to say, I really enjoy doing all of that!

Marketing: Last but not least: Which is your favorite Mini PC?

Patricia: Heavy question. I knew that this question was coming, so I already did some research…It’s not that easy to choose a favorite one among the many choices. For me it is the CORE 2. I am a big fan of its clean look and the decent selection of interfaces that you need for digital signage applications. Why a digital signage PC? Because everything that has to do with this field can arouse my interest. Whether it’s Artificial Intelligence or Virtual Reality, these areas offer so much potential and are so fascinating at the same time!
